    It appears that the "bad guys" (criminals and terrorists) are more determined, violent and heavily armed than ever before. Crisis situations such as mass shootings, terrorist and criminal attacks are occurring with alarming frequency. These events can occur on college/university campuses, school grounds, the workplace or,other public locations.

    Public safety agencies must adapt to the changes in society so that appropriate delivery of emergency services is ensured in a crisis. Responder's safety is paramount during these types of events! Course will cover the following topics:

    • Threat Assessments/Threat Groups Overview
    • Pre-Incident Planning
    • Multi-Agency Response
    • Command Considerations
    • Scene Safety
    • "Lessons Learned
    • Resources for Planning & Training

    The NC Fire & Life Safety Education Conference is dedicated to educating statewide fire, rescue, and EMS personnel on how to effectively prevent accidental injuries and deaths. The conference provides a forum that delivers common-sense solutions to today's fire and life safety problems and addresses a wide range of prevention and safety topics from Home Sprinklers to Child Development. This year, only the Administration component of the NC Fire and Life Safety Education Certification will be offered during the conference. It will be offered at Level I, II, and III at the Saturday and Sunday pre-conference. This year's conference will give attendees the chance to gain professional development as they network with peers and enjoy the new and exciting workshops being offered.
