1998 Luverne/Spartan Pumper
The Oswego Town Fire District in pleased to announce the addition of a new piece of
firefighting apparatus. The new pumper was manufactured by Luverne Fire Apparatus in
Brandon, South Dakota. The pumper is a state-of-the-art unit designed by the volunteer
members of the Oswego Town Fire Department to continue serving the residents of the Town
of Oswego. The vehicle replaces a 1984 pumper.
Specs: 1998 Liverne Fire Apparatus custom stainless steel pumper; Spartan Gladiator LFD,
20" raised roof chassis with top, inside mounted pump panel; Waterous 2000GPM pump;
Detroit Diesel Series 60, 430HP, 6-cylinder, turbo-charged diesel engine; Detroit
Diesel Electronic Fire Commander pumping system; Allison HD-4060PR automatic
transmission; Rockwell "WABCO" Anti-Lock braking system with traction control; Elkart
electric operated valves; 900-gallon fiberglass water tank; Bostrum SCBA seats with
rip-stop material; 290amp Niehoff alternator; Three 1.75" and one 2.5" preconnected
crosslays, one 2.5" preconnected rear discharge; 1200' of Angus 5" supply hose; Rescue
pumper compartment layout with full height, full depth compartments; Four top-mounted
coffin compartments for hazardous materials equipment storage; 5,000-watt Honda generator
with electronic remote start; three 750-watt Kwik Raze telescoping lights.
