Sidney Fire Department
Sidney, NY
1978 American LaFrance Pumper

unit image

Engine 2412, also known as "Big Red", of H.G. Phelps Hose Co. #1 is a 1978 American LaFrance 1500 gpm Pumper with a 500 gal. tank. She was refurbished to extend life another 15 years. We decided to paint it Red & Black, for a more aggressive look than the original red & white. With the highly trained and skilled firefighters that ride Big Red, She is most often "First In, Last Out".

Sidney Fire Dept. is a volunteer dept. that protects a 7 square mile area with approximately 6,000 people. We operate out of 2 stations, with 2 hose companies, a hook & ladder company and an emergency squad.
