The Hudson Depratment of Fire recently placed into service with C. H. Evans
Hook & Ladder
Company, No. 3 a 2001 KME "AerialCat" 95' 3 section rearmount tower. The
truck has a
"Renegade" 6 man cab with a 12" split raised roof extending forward of the
driver
for visibility in setting up the tower. The body is aluminum. The truck has
a Hale QMAX
2000 gpm pump with 4 crosslays (two 1.75" & two 2.5"), two 3" discharges,
two 2.5" discharges,
and a 5" electronically controlled discharge for the tower waterway. There
is a 5"
rear intake for external supply to the waterway. There is a 300 gallon poly
tank.
The truck has a computerized jacking and automatic leveling system. Lasers
are used
to locate jack pad placement. The maximum jacking width of the truck is
16'. Either
side can be short jacked. The tower is steel with a 1000 pound tip load at
any level.
A 25KW generator supplies electric power to six 1000W quartz lights on the
bucket and two 2000W
and two 500W quartz lights on the body. There are two 150' electric cord
reels plus outlets and
rope lighting in the bucket. The bucket includes a 1,500 gpm automatic
nozzle along with three
2.5" discharges. The bucket has 100' of preconnected 1.75" hose along with
50' of 2.5" hose
with a distributor nozzle. There are four outlets for prepiped air in the
bucket. Inside the
last fly are mounted a 16' roof ladder and pike poles. A Stokes basket is
mounted on the
outside of the tower.
