Illinois Firefighters Battle Storage Yard Blaze

Photos by Nicolas Thornton & Harvard Fire Protection District
Story by Carla Firey

Ten fire departments were called Tuesday evening to battle fire at Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS) in Harvard, Illinois. When the second call came through, the entire stock of plastic drainage tiles was ablaze.

Harvard Fire Department was the first to arrive on the scene, with nine other departments arriving shortly thereafter. It took 100 firefighters over an hour to control the storage yard blaze.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
