Firefighters from the City of Whitehall, OH Division of Fire responded to a single vehicle injury crash on Saturday, March 10.
A Chevrolet S-10 Blazer, 4-door, struck a tree at high speed on Fairway Blvd. just after 9:00 p.m.
According to Whitehall Fire Chief Tim Tilton, a male adult, the driver, and a child were both critically injured after the SUV slammed head on into a tree.
Whitehall Medics 151/152, Engine 151, Batt. 151, and Dept. Chief 150 (Tilton) responded to the scene.
A mutual aid rescue from Mifflin Twp (R-131) and Batt 131 assisted with extrication and Truro Twp Engine 164 (Lt Kimble) secured a landing zone for a helicopter from MedFlight of Ohio (BK-117/N214AE).
The adult patient was airlifted to Grant Medical Center, and the pediatric was ground transported to Columbus Children's, both Level 1 trauma centers.
The City of Whitehall is just east of Columbus, OH in Franklin County and is a full time career department.
