The McKinney Fire Department responded to a house fire on May 16, in McKinney, Texas.
The fire was handled with three engines, one Quint and two medical units as well as an air support vehicle.
A total of 26 personnel were on location.
This was a two story home under construction. The building was framed. Exposures were of similar construction. The fire did
spread to an exposure to the north of the original fire building.
Other
exposures were effectively protected. A strong wind helped in the rapid
development and spread of the fire. Arson is suspected.
McKinney is a rapidly growing community of some 60,000 population. Service is provided out of four
stations, one of which is a dual ARFF/structure station. A fifth station is
in the design phase and scheduled for construction start early this summer.
