The Robbins Hose Company #1 of Dover, DE was dispatched to this building fire
in the early morning hours of Saturday October 20th.
The local 911 center
recieved several cell phone calls from residents trapped inside the building.
Dover Fire Dispatch was notified of the fire. First arriving Deputy Fire
Chief Brian Bashista arrived within minutes to report fire showing from the
second and third floors extending through the roof and immediately requested
a second alarm.
Several searches of the building were performed with negative
results. All occupants were accounted for.
One women was injured after her and her husband repelled out the window from their third floor apartment.
At the height of the fire three 1 3/4" handlines were in service.
The blaze was brought under control within 30
minutes. Units responding on the first alarm: C16(Deputy),E4, L1, L2, E3 EMS:
A63, M67 Units responding on the Second Alarm: E5, E6, and R1 EMS: A41, A43,
A53 and M65, Coverage to the City was provided by Sta. 41, Sta. 43. Other
units on secene: DPD, FM1, FM3, U10.
