From a vantage point four miles away, the hills and canyons of Malibu, California burn furiously during the evening of November 2, 1993. The largest amount of firefighting resources ever assembled for any incident, battled the flames over the next five days to control the wildland inferno which destroyed 350 homes. Firefighters were able to save 95% of the 7500 homes at risk.
