A seven-alarm fire ripped through the Boston, MA, landmark James Hook lobster company on June 30, 2008. Numerous master streams were used to battle the fire in the well-involved structure. The fire destroyed 50,000 pounds of lobster and occurred across the street from the quarters of Engine 10, Tower Ladder 3 and Rescue 1.

Dedication

This month's Firehouse is dedicated to Deputy Chief Jeff Powers, 44, of the Southern Marin Fire Protection District in Mill Valley, CA; Captain Gary L. Studer, 61, of the Whitehorse, OH, Fire Department; and Firefighter Michael MacDonald, 26, of the Chief Mountain Interagency Hot Shot Crew in Browning, MT, who died in the line of duty, June 2008; and to Firefighter Robert Roland,63, of the Anderson Valley Volunteer Fire Department in Boonville, CA; and Firefighter Joe Pat Jordan, 71, of the Pickton-Pine Forest Volunteer Fire Department in Pickton, TX, who died in the line of duty, July 2008.
