The Roseville, MI, Fire Department responded to a two-alarm building fire on Dec. 7, 2008. The blaze was fought in defensive mode due to fire and building conditions. Units from Eastpointe, St. Clair Shores, Warren, Clinton Township and Harrison Township responded to the second alarm. The fire was brought under control using one tower, one ladder pipe and several handlines. Companies operated for about three hours to control the fire.

Dedication

This month's Firehouse is dedicated to Captain Richard Lynn Rhea, 60, of the Crawfordville, FL, Volunteer Fire Department; and to Firefighter Kyle Perkins, 45, and Firefighter Cory James Galloway, 23, of the Kilgore, TX, Fire Department, who died in the line of duty, January 2009.

  • It began more than a year earlier - initial discussions, concepts, exchanges of ideas and an open forum with key members of the Los Angeles Fire Department, including Deputy Chief Mario Rueda (Chief of Emergency Services), Battalion Chief John Miller and Captain Bob Holloway, about executing a substantial high-rise training exercise to challenge the department as never before.
