Captain Peter Kertzie and Firefighter Larry Zientek of Buffalo, NY, Engine 22 stretch a 21¼2-inch handline at a second-alarm fire in an occupied 21¼2-story dwelling on July 14, 2002. The building of origin was fully involved on arrival, and the fire spread to four adjacent structures. One occupant was treated for burns and smoke inhalation.

This month's Firehouse® is dedicated to Firefighter Robert Feeney, 42, of the Long Branch, NJ, Fire Department; to Firefighter Dustin Schwendeman, 26, of the Dunham Township, OH, Volunteer Fire Department; and to Firefighter Thomas Earl Brooks, 48, of the Lumberton, NC, Fire Department, who died in the line of duty, January 2002.
