The following position is currently available:

Assistant Fire Chief/Tech Services

Responsible for fire prevention inspection and education programs outlined in applicable USAF & AFOSH standards.

Must possess a thorough knowledge of the chemistry of fire: physical and chemical properties of combustible materials, building structures and their component systems; i.e., electrical, gas, water and ventilating systems; operations, inspection and testing of installation fire detection and suppression systems; identification and correction of fire hazards and deficiencies; fire prevention education programs; and inspection and distribution of flight line and portable fire extinguishers.

Requires a minimum of 6 years experience in a key supervisory fire protection position in which 4 years include aircraft fire fighting and rescue experience with F16, F4, F111, C141, C5 or similar high-performance aircraft; experience in technical services desirable.

Must also possess a working knowledge of NFPA Standards and OSHA Regulations and have the following certifications: Fire Inspector Level III, HazMat Incident Commander, Fire Instructor II and Fire Officer III. Associate Degree in fire science preferred.

Applicants with a Fire Inspector Level II certification will also be considered.
