SAN BERNARDINO - A tense few moments followed the sound of six to eight gunshots outside Fire Station 7 late Tuesday.

Firefighter-paramedic Greg Soria and his crew stood up in the living room of the station, looked out the window and saw a man lying in the middle of the intersection of 40th Street and Electric Avenue.

Nov. 20--After a resident complained about Larimer firefighters campaigning for a political candidate, North Huntingdon commissioners said Wednesday that they'll send a letter to the volunteer department reinforcing a township policy that their vehicles should be used only for fire-related calls.

Commissioners voted unanimously to send the letter after comments by Larimer resident Terri Dahlstrom.

A mobile home fire claimed the life of a 22-year-old woman Friday morning and severely burned a 1-year-old girl and her 28-year-old aunt, the Pinal County Sheriff's Office said.

The blaze broke out at about 8:30 a.m. at the structure in the Pinal County community of Maricopa south of Phoenix.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.

Police were called to a Stanwood business in the middle of the night Friday to find a man using an excavator in a destructive rampage, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

Neighbors who live near Forest Land Services called 911 around 3 a.m. to report unusual construction noise on Pioneer Highway.

"When deputies arrived they found an excavator that was basically destroying everything in its path," said Stanwood Police Chief Ty Trenary.

Nov. 20--Wednesday's tour bus crash on Interstate 90 was the largest mass-casualty event that Austin Fire Chief Dan Wilson has been to in his 25 years with the department.

Austin firefighters were called for mutual aid and were among the first on the scene, where two were killed and 21 were injured.
