Paramedics rushed a 95-year-old Hilo woman to the hospital after she was pulled from her burning home by a family member Wednesday, Hawaii County fire officials said.

The fire at 1694 Waianuenue Ave. in the Kaumana section of Hilo was reported at about 4:30 p.m. Firefighters arriving on the scene found flames shooting out of a bedroom window and dark smoke billowing from windows and the roof, officials said.
