Texas Firefighters' Crosses Mark 9/11 Anniversary

Flags, Crosses Honor 343 Fallen Firefighters

Story by nbc5i.com

GARLAND, Texas -- As the one-year anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks nears, two firehouses in Garland are marking the event with crosses and flags.

Firefighters at Station 3 lined the firehouse and lawn Tuesday morning with 343 flags to represent each fallen firefighter from Sept. 11.

And at Station 7, one firefighter built 343 white crosses to be placed on the lawn next to the station house.
